Fortekor Flavour 5 mg helps control blood pressure and treat heart disease/kidney disease in pets. It contains the active ingredient Benazepril Hydrochloride, which belongs to the vasodilator (ACE inhibitor) drug class. It is manufactured by Elanco.

Mechanism of Action and Indications by Pet Type

• For dogs: Used to treat Congestive Heart Failure. The medication helps dilate blood vessels and reduce blood pressure, so the heart does not have to work excessively. It helps reduce coughing and exercise intolerance, resulting in a better quality of life and longer lifespan for the pet.
  
• For cats: Used to reduce protein loss in urine (Proteinuria) caused by Chronic Kidney Disease. The medication helps reduce blood pressure within the kidneys and slow the deterioration of kidney tissue, preventing it from being damaged more quickly.

Approximate Dosage (administer once daily)

Dogs: The minimum dosage is 0.25 mg per 1 kg of body weight.

• Dogs weighing 5–10 kg: Give 1/2 tablet once daily.
  
• Dogs weighing 10–20 kg: Give 1 tablet once daily.

Cats: The minimum dosage is 0.5 mg per 1 kg of body weight.

• Cats weighing 2.5–5 kg: Give 1/2 tablet once daily.
  
• Cats weighing 5–10 kg: Give 1 tablet once daily.
